MY STORY

Israel Gatterer was born on October 11, 1990 in Jerusalem, Israel.
At age 7, he began to study violin in the local conservatory.
From early on, he showed a keen interest in performing violin covers in addition to classical compositions.
At age 9, he performed with Itzhak Perlman in a concert as part of a master class for young, talented violinists.
While still a pre-teen, he engaged in various competitions and received several prizes and scholarships.
From 2003-2009, Israel studied at The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance High School, where he advanced under the supervision of his instructor, Ms. Sophie Pikovsky.
Among other activities, he sang soprano in the Academy’s choral group, performed in the Academy’s orchestra, studied conducting and performed under the baton of conductors: Maestro & Professor Evgeny Tsirlin and the late Maestro & Professor Mendi Rodan.
While still in high school, he participated in the gala concert of Benjamin Britten with the Academy of Music.
During the years 2009-2012, Israel served in an elite combat unit of the Israel Defense Forces. He completed his military service with a commendation as an outstanding soldier and then continued his studies in the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance until 2016.
Under the supervision, encouragement and mentoring of his instructor, Mr. Moti Shmitt, not only was Israel able to reclaim his talent as a violinist which he had put on hold for the years of his IDF service, but he advanced to new heights.
Israel has become an internationally acclaimed violinist and performs most often at special events, such as weddings, fund-raising galas, Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations and official State functions.
From time to time, Israel also accompanies renowned concert singers including Avraham Fried, Benny Friedman, Shlomi Shabat, Yaakov Shwekey, Moshe Peretz and others.
